Nosenden's Summer Tradition: Wind Chime Train 2026 Operation and Wind Chime Painting & Installation Experience Event

Nosenden Railway will once again operate its summer tradition, the 'Nosenden Wind Chime Train 2026,' which decorates train interiors with wind chimes to bring a refreshing summer atmosphere. Ahead of the operation, an event where children and their families can create the wind chime train together will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

We will invite 100 children (elementary school age and younger) and their guardians to paint glass wind chimes and tanzaku (wish cards) freely inside a train parked at Hirano Station. Participants will then enjoy the process of installing the wind chimes onto the train ceiling together with our staff members.

After installation, participants will board the completed Wind Chime Train and experience a train washing session. Enjoy the colorful decorations and soothing sounds of the original wind chimes swaying inside the moving train.

We hope this event will provide children, who may not often use public transportation, with an enjoyable experience of traveling by train. We look forward to many applications from families.

〇 Wind Chime Painting & In-Train Installation Experience Event Overview

【Morning Session】10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

【Afternoon Session】1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

(3) Venue: Nosenden Railway Headquarters (Gathering outside Hirano Station ticket gate)

(4) Capacity:

100 children (elementary school age and younger) (pre-registration required; lottery in case of oversubscription)

Morning session: 50 children / Afternoon session: 50 children

※ Guardian required (one adult per child)

※ Up to 3 children per application

(5) Participation Fee: Free (includes one glass wind chime)

(6) Activities:

・ Use oil-based markers to draw your favorite designs on wind chimes and tanzaku

・ Decorate the train ceiling with wind chimes

・ Be the first to ride the Wind Chime Train! Experience the powerful train washing and listen to the chimes' melodies
