Kotobuki Seating Co., Ltd. (President: Shigeyuki Fukazawa, hereinafter "Kotobuki Seating"), Hanshin Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (President: Yusuke Kusu, hereinafter "Hanshin Electric Railway"), and Hanshin Tigers Corporation (President: Kazuo Awai, hereinafter "Hanshin Tigers") will offset approximately 225 tons of CO2 emitted during a total of 9 Hanshin Tigers home games held at Hanshin Koshien Stadium, utilizing the J-Credit system※1. This amount is equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by approximately 15,000 cedar trees in one year.

This initiative is part of the "KOSHIEN "eco" Challenge※2." Under the sponsorship and support of Kotobuki Seating, Hanshin Koshien Stadium and the Hanshin Tigers have designated 9 games※3 held in June and July, when CO2 emissions increase due to air conditioning operation, as "Carbon Offset※4 Games." This will be the sixth time this event is held.

While Hanshin Koshien Stadium has achieved "100% renewable energy usage in electricity consumption from fiscal year 2025※5," CO2 is still emitted on game days due to the consumption of gas and water, and waste disposal associated with air conditioning and cooking at concession stands. Therefore, through "Carbon Offset Games," we will continue to work towards further decarbonization and environmental conservation.

[About the Supporting Company]

Kotobuki Seating

For over 110 years since its founding, Kotobuki Seating has pursued the creation of safe and high-quality seating for various spaces such as stadiums, arenas, theaters, halls, movie theaters, and educational facilities. In its manufacturing and corporate activities, the company aims for environmental consideration and social contribution based on "3R + Renewable." This includes reducing waste, reusing items, and recycling resources and products, while providing environmentally friendly products that utilize renewable resources.

In addition to recycled and renewable materials, the company actively adopts wood-based materials that are expected to contribute to carbon neutrality.

Kotobuki Seating will continue to provide products that are kind to the earth.

In this initiative, Kotobuki Seating supports the efforts of Hanshin Electric Railway and Hanshin Tigers by endorsing the Carbon Offset Games. Furthermore, through carbon credits derived from renewable energy (J-Credit) acquired via JCX operated by the Japan GX Group, Kotobuki Seating will offset the CO2 emissions from games held at Hanshin Koshien Stadium during the period.

Kotobuki Seating, Hanshin Koshien Stadium, and Hanshin Tigers will continue to actively contribute to society through initiatives that contribute to environmental conservation, including CO2 reduction.

Glossary of Terms in the Body

※1 The J-Credit System is a system where the government certifies reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, such as CO2, achieved through efforts like the introduction of energy-saving equipment and forest management, as credits. Credits generated through this system can be utilized for various purposes, such as achieving the goals of the "Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures" and carbon offsetting (quoted from the J-Credit System website).

※2 This is an initiative declared by Hanshin Koshien Stadium on December 9, 2021, to address "Promotion of Environmental Conservation," one of the six important themes set forth in the "Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Sustainability Declaration." It aims to be an environmentally friendly stadium, focusing on themes such as "Environmental Consideration," "Prevention of Waste Generation and Promotion of Recycling," "Reduction of CO2 Emissions," and "Utilization of Renewable Energy."

※3

Games against the Chunichi Dragons from June 30 (Tue) to July 2 (Thu),

Games against the Hiroshima Toyo Carp from July 3 (Fri) to 5 (Sun),

Games against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows from July 10 (Fri) to 12 (Sun) - a total of 9 games.

※4 This is the concept of offsetting greenhouse gases (carbon) that are inevitably emitted in daily life and economic activities, by investing in greenhouse gas reduction activities equivalent to the amount emitted, after making efforts to reduce emissions as much as possible.
