Heisei Kensetsu to Host 'Beam Joint Strength Contest' on June 12th Featuring 26 Young Carpenters

With a collective of over 200 artisans, Heisei Kensetsu will gather 26 young carpenters who will work in pairs to hand-carve 'beam joints.' Once the beams are completed, teams will compete to test the weight-bearing capacity of their work. The day will also feature demonstrations by nationally recognized champion artisans and a plane-shaving experience corner.
