HERALBONY EUROPE, the European subsidiary of Heralbony Co., Ltd., is pleased to announce the exhibition of French artist Evelyn Postic, the Grand Prix winner of the 'HERALBONY Art Prize 2025 Presented by Tokyo Buildings | Brillia', at InterContinental Lyon.

The HERALBONY Art Prize aims to be an 'award with an exit,' supporting artists beyond their initial recognition. Heralbony creates ongoing opportunities for awarded works to engage with society by collaborating with corporate and cultural partners to launch new exhibitions and projects both domestically and internationally.

The exhibition at InterContinental Lyon is one such project born from this initiative. It originated from a meeting between Heralbony and Nicolas Mercier, General Manager of InterContinental Lyon, who deeply resonated with Evelyn Postic’s artwork based on historical maps of Lyon, leading to the realization of this exhibition.

InterContinental Lyon is a five-star hotel inaugurated in 2019, following a large-scale renovation of a historic building that served as the 'Hôtel-Dieu de Lyon' (municipal hospital) from the 15th century until 2010. Evelyn Postic was born in this hospital during its time as a functioning medical facility. Hosting an exhibition at the artist’s birthplace holds profound significance.

This project was made possible through the alignment between InterContinental Lyon’s mission to deliver deeply rooted local experiences and stories to guests, and the artistic world of Evelyn Postic.

Art to Be Experienced Through All Five Senses: Limited Edition Sweets, Cocktails, and Floral Arrangements

This project extends beyond a traditional exhibition. A multi-sensory space has been created, featuring two original pastries by a master patissier, a signature cocktail inspired by Japan, and a special floral arrangement crafted exclusively for this collaboration.

'Le Tarte au Fruit Sec Fumé' (Smoked Apricot Tart), created by Chef Patissier Vincent Thomas, draws inspiration from the exhibited artwork《Chaudronnerie n°14》. The dessert captures the smoky nuance and swirling forms present in the piece.

Additionally, 'La Tropézienne au Citron et Framboise' (Lemon and Raspberry Tropézienne) is based on《Peurs Profondes》. It incorporates the antique map from Saint-Tropez to Menton that serves as the artwork’s support, translating its vivid color palette into a confectionery creation.

Furthermore, the adjacent bar offers a signature cocktail named 'Natsu,' inspired by the Japanese summer. Featuring Japanese gin, it pays homage to Japan—the origin of HERALBONY—and evokes the refreshing atmosphere of a Japanese summer.

Additionally, a special floral arrangement created by Lyon-based florist 'Amarylice' for this exhibition will be displayed, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the artistic universe throughout the entire space.

The Connection Between InterContinental Lyon and Evelyn Postic

InterContinental Lyon is located at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site 'Historic Areas of Lyon,' symbolizing the city’s heritage. The building itself dates back to the 12th century, originally designed as a facility to accommodate clergy, pilgrims, and warriors en route to holy sites or crusades. It evolved from a shelter into a medical facility, eventually becoming one of Lyon’s most prominent hospitals.

After four years of extensive restoration, it was reborn in 2019 as InterContinental Lyon. The harmonious blend of long-standing history and contemporary design has earned global acclaim from travelers worldwide.

InterContinental Lyon is not only a historic building but also part of the collective memory of the city’s residents. Having functioned as a hospital, approximately one in three Lyon citizens was born at this site, including Evelyn Postic. For her, this place is deeply intertwined with her personal history and holds profound emotional significance.

Evelyn Postic’s Comment

I am deeply honored to have my works exhibited at the historic InterContinental Lyon. This hotel is a special place, transformed from the former Lyon municipal hospital—a location where I, like many other Lyon citizens, was born. At this site, where rich history meets renewed life, I still enjoy strolling through the quiet corridors and courtyards, savoring its serene atmosphere. I sincerely thank Mr. Nicolas Mercier, General Manager of InterContinental Lyon, for offering me this exceptional opportunity, and Heralbony for planning this exhibition and continuously supporting me as an artist. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who shines a light on living artists and supports their creative endeavors.
