HEROZ Inc. released a new game mode, "Tsume-Battle," for "Shogi Wars" on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. "Tsume-Battle" is a new competitive mode where players race to solve tsume-shogi (shogi puzzles) in a 1-on-1 format. The shogi AI "Kishin" extracts tsume-shogi positions tailored to the user's skill level from a database of 1.15 billion game records, offering a competitive experience distinct from solving puzzles alone.

Background of Development Tsume-shogi has a long history dating back to the Edo period. Wanting users to enjoy this traditional art form within Shogi Wars, the idea of a competitive format was born.

The puzzles are extracted by AI from actual Shogi Wars game records. Unlike textbook puzzles, these are positions born from real games, offering a realistic feel.
