Hinoki Soken to Exhibit at Salone del Mobile.Milano

Hinoki Soken Co., Ltd., a comprehensive planner of cypress bathtubs and bathrooms (Headquarters: Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture, Representative Director: Motohiro Oguri), will unveil a new wooden bathtub designed by Motomi Kawakami, a leading Japanese product designer, at the Salone del Mobile.Milano in Milan, Italy.

Concept: sa yu - On the purity of HINOKI and clear water Our company, Hinoki Soken, is located in Gifu Prefecture, known as the 'Land of Clear Streams,' a region rich in greenery and water, situated at the center of the Japanese archipelago. Against this backdrop, we manufacture cypress bathtubs by utilizing the traditional woodworking techniques passed down in the region. Japanese bathing culture encompasses not only 'washing the body' but also 'healing oneself while respecting nature.' We wish to convey these two major characteristics—'immersing oneself in deep hot water' and 'using natural cypress/plain wood bathtubs'—through the keyword 'sa yu,' inspired by the Japanese words 'sayu' (plain hot water) and 'shiraki' (plain wood).
