Hitachi Develops Operation Control System for Autonomous Vehicles, Confirms Effectiveness in Field Tests

Hitachi, Ltd. has developed an autonomous vehicle operation control system to address driver shortages and mobility challenges. The system combines Dynamic Operation Management for real-time adjustments, Digital Twin technology for environmental safety assessment, and AI-assisted remote monitoring. In field tests conducted at Keio University SFC in March 2026, the system demonstrated high efficiency in minimizing delays and achieved 90% accuracy in determining the need for human intervention. Hitachi aims for social implementation by FY2030.
