Panasonic Holdings Corporation (hereinafter "Panasonic HD") and Vieureka Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Vieureka") have developed "Toilet Entry/Exit Detection," a new feature for the nursing care support service "LifeLens," which visualizes toilet usage in resident rooms in real-time. The service will be available starting April 2026.

This feature can be utilized by adding the "Toilet Entry/Exit Detection App (AI behavior analysis app)" to the Vieureka AI sensing cameras, which are used as the core system for LifeLens. Through demonstration and pilot operations at HITOWA Inc., a detection rate of over 90% for toilet entry and exit was achieved. The use of this feature is expected to improve the efficiency of night patrols and contribute to the provision of high-quality care.

By combining their technologies and services, Panasonic HD and Vieureka aim to create an environment where nursing staff can focus on the care they are meant to provide by supplementing or replacing patrol and confirmation tasks traditionally performed by humans with technology.

<Features>

1. Real-time visualization of toilet entry and exit

2. Privacy-conscious edge AI configuration

3. Entry/exit detection method with reduced false positives and detection time lag
