Panasonic Connect Group, in collaboration with JTB, will launch a pilot project on June 3, 2026, at the 'Pivot BASE Cafe & Bar @Dotonbori' in Osaka, aimed at promoting interest in visiting tourist destinations through immersive video. In this project, visitors will experience tourist spots through immersive video and take commemorative photos with AI-generated avatars of themselves, testing whether this creates new interest and leads to actual visits. The video control will utilize the Connect Group's digital signage solution, 'AcroSign(R).' By combining immersive video with generative AI and remote cloud control, the project aims to address the need for tourism dispersion due to overtourism in popular areas. 'Pivot BASE' is a cafe and bar concept providing 'new discoveries and experiences' for domestic and international travelers. By offering immersive experiences and AI-generated photos, the project aims to introduce lesser-known regional attractions, thereby increasing interest and value for visitors and encouraging travel to various destinations.
