Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and haccoba Inc. will open a craft sake brewery, "haccoba Otemachi Brewery," in September 2026. The brewery will be located on the second floor of the "Otemachi Gate Building" (scheduled for completion in July 2026) within a facility tentatively named "Agriculture and Food Industry Support Facility." The brewery will include a lab and showroom to showcase products and initiatives created through co-creation with agriculture and food industry players, aiming to serve as a hub for disseminating and co-creating Japanese food culture.
Along the banks of the Nihonbashi River, where the Otemachi Gate Building is located, food supplies were unloaded during the Edo period, fostering a food culture of izakaya and soba in the surrounding Kanda district. In this area, which deeply influenced Japanese food culture, haccoba will brew "craft sake," a new category of alcoholic beverage created by adding ingredients such as fruits and herbs to traditional sake brewing techniques.
Beyond brewing, the brewery aims to create new value by connecting regional areas and the city, focusing on the agriculture and food sectors. Specifically, it will hold events as part of the "Megurumeku Project," an activity intended to build a rich food culture and society by deepening mutual understanding between regional producers/processors and urban consumers. It also plans to collaborate with companies, organizations, and restaurants in the Otemachi-Marunouchi-Yurakucho district.
haccoba has contributed to forming the "Megurumeku Community" by speaking at numerous programs and releasing collaboration products since the project's inception. The brewery will continue to engage in co-creation with various players.
