This survey collected and aggregated job information from the recruitment media "En Haken" and "Hatarako.net" using the recruitment big data analysis tool "HRog Chart." In May 2026, the national average hourly wage for temporary staff was 1,604 yen (+6 yen from the previous month, +35 yen year-on-year), representing a 2.23% increase compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, the number of job openings for temporary staff nationwide was 261,195 (-19,357 from the previous month, -48,659 year-on-year), a 15.70% decrease from the previous year. By job category, sectors such as hotels, inns, and bridal services saw growth in both wages and job openings, while the education, language, and sports sectors experienced a significant decline in job openings, highlighting a divergence in performance across industries.
