Hyojito Co., Ltd. (HQ: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture) has announced the installation and operation of a large LED vision and tourism digital signage within the new all-weather plaza facility at Kaga-Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line.
### Project Background Following the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in March 2024, Kaga-Onsen Station has become a vital gateway for domestic and international tourists. In response, Kaga City developed the 'Yunomachi Kaga' exchange facility and an all-weather plaza to strengthen the station area's role as a community hub.
Hyojito implemented the following digital solutions: - **Yunomachi Kaga**: Digital signage displaying intuitive tourism illustration maps and real-time train timetables to support smooth navigation. - **All-Weather Plaza**: A massive LED vision integrated into a 14-meter-high glass-roofed structure, used for dynamic event production and disaster emergency alerts linked to mobile area mail systems.
### The 'Zero Maintenance Cost Scheme' A key highlight of this project is the self-sustaining business model. By leveraging Hyojito's extensive expertise in the advertising industry, the system's running costs are fully covered by ad revenue. This allows the local government to maintain advanced digital infrastructure without financial strain.
### Stakeholder Comments Yoji Kitaguchi of Kaga City's Urban Planning Division noted that the high-definition visuals enhance the station's appeal while optimizing costs through ad revenue. Hiroaki Takeuchi, President of Takeuchi Electrical Construction, which provided technical cooperation, expressed his commitment to the region's further development through this project.
Hyojito plans to promote this initiative as a 'standard model for sustainable regional revitalization' to local governments across Japan.
