Apple pie specialty store "GRANNY SMITH APPLE PIE & COFFEE" (hereinafter "GRANNY SMITH"; I-STYLE Co., Ltd.; Headquarters: Osaka, Osaka; CEO: Masayuki Sugimoto) will launch its first collaboration menu, "Plum Apple Pie" and "Plum Tea Soda," on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at all GRANNY SMITH locations and its online shop, in partnership with Iijima Shoten Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ueda, Nagano; President: Shinichiro Iijima).
New Apple Pie Featuring 'Misuzu Ame' from Shinshu's Historic Iijima Shoten
The new limited-edition April offering from GRANNY SMITH is the "Plum Apple Pie," which utilizes two products from the historic Shinshu-based Iijima Shoten.
The pie features a crispy crust layered with two types of homemade cream and plenty of apples, topped with "Shiki no Jam" (Seasonal Jam) plum and "Misuzu Ame" before being baked.
Iijima Shoten's "Shiki no Jam" plum uses rare native Japanese plums from Ueda City and Nagawa Town. It is characterized by its vibrant red color, elegant acidity, and floral aroma.
The jam is made using traditional methods, with every step from processing the raw ingredients to the final finish handled in-house, carefully cooked by artisans relying on their senses.
By pairing it with Jonagold apples from Aomori Prefecture, the acidity and sweetness of the fruit are further enhanced, resulting in a deep and complex flavor profile.
