The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan will host the Italian cooking competition for professional chefs, 'Gran Concorso di Cucina (GCC),' again in 2026. This competition is exclusively for professional chefs, aiming to discover new talents in Japan and promote regional Italian cuisine. The judging will primarily be conducted by prominent Italian chefs active in Japan, ensuring evaluation from an authentic perspective.

The judging will primarily be conducted by prominent Italian chefs active in Japan, ensuring a strict evaluation from an authentic perspective.

We have now started accepting entries for the 17th National Italian Cooking Competition (GCC). Applicants must submit an original recipe and a photo of their dish, and only chefs who pass the document screening will proceed to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, a practical cooking test will be conducted within a limited time, comprehensively evaluating taste, presentation, creativity, adherence to the theme, and understanding of Italian cuisine.

Two finalists who advance from the semi-finals will compete in the grand final, which will be held in front of an audience, for the title of 'GCC 2026' champion with their final dish. The semi-finals are scheduled to be held privately, while the finals will be a public event. The winner and runner-up will receive luxurious prizes.
