Strawberry Inc. operates a lifestyle-oriented shopping center, 'Miyakoshi City,' rooted in the local community of Miyazaki Prefecture. Building on this, we promote sustainability through clean energy ('Ichigo ECO Energy'), regional sports development including the J.League J2 club 'TEGEVAJARO Miyazaki,' agriculture ('Ichigo Potager'), and local broadcasting ('Miyazaki Sunshine FM'). We have contributed to Miyazaki’s development by supporting the prefecture’s initiatives in sports promotion and food business development through corporate hometown tax donations.
Moving forward, we aim to create sustainable businesses leveraging our core competencies, contribute to revitalizing the Southern Kyushu region including Miyazaki Prefecture, and help create a more prosperous Japan.
Comment from Minoru Ishihara, Senior Managing Executive Officer & COO, Strawberry Inc.
Under our management philosophy of 'Making Japan the Richest Country in the World,' Strawberry Inc. is committed to building a sustainable society through regionally rooted businesses.
We view Miyazaki as a 'Miyazaki Family Economic Zone,' where each business is interconnected and generates new value. We believe that by integrating commerce, sports, tourism, agriculture, energy, and local media, we can further enhance the region’s appeal and vitality.
Miyazaki Prefecture has launched the 'Number One Challenge Project.' As a corporate citizen, we support this initiative and have implemented the corporate hometown tax donation to back the prefecture’s efforts in sports promotion, food business development, and human resource cultivation. We will continue to contribute to regional development through both our core business and philanthropy.
From the fiscal year ending February 2023 to the fiscal year ending February 2026, we have cumulatively donated 150 million yen to Miyazaki Prefecture and 667.4 million yen to municipalities across the prefecture through the corporate hometown tax program. Going forward, we will collaborate with local residents, municipalities, and the TEGEVAJARO family, among others, to advance sustainable initiatives that energize Japan from Miyazaki.
