Tokyo GEMStartup TOKYO FY2026-2027: Call for Participants for 'New Business Creation Platform' and 'Commercialization Program' Begins!

Ignition Point Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Takafumi Suemune) has begun accepting applications for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's FY2026-2027 'New Business Discovery Project (GEMStartup TOKYO),' for which the company serves as the secretariat. Leveraging its expertise in innovation and transformation, Ignition Point will provide robust support to those challenging themselves to create new businesses. GEMStartup TOKYO is a project by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government aimed at uncovering excellent ideas, talent, and technical seeds dormant within large corporations. The project consists of three programs: the 'New Business Creation Platform' for passing initial internal stage gates, the 'Commercialization Program' for spin-offs, and the 'Collaboration Model' for strengthening infrastructure toward spin-offs. Through lectures, workshops, and mentoring by entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, the project supports innovation within large enterprises. (1) New Business Creation Platform: Provides a curriculum for those eager to create new businesses using corporate assets. (2) Commercialization Program: Provides a curriculum for those who already have business ideas and aim for commercialization or spin-offs. (3) Corporate Support Program (Collaboration Model): Provides a curriculum for corporate secretariats managing internal business contests. Recruitment periods vary by program, with the New Business Creation Platform running from May 28 to July 31, 2026, and the Commercialization Program until July 17, 2026. Eligibility includes employees of large corporations who are motivated to launch new businesses in Tokyo using their company's resources. Online information sessions will be held during the recruitment period.
