Indie Film 'Eikyo to Pipe Dream', Depicting the 'Dreams' and 'Reality' of the Pandemic Era at a Real Snack Bar, is Now Crowdfunding.

"We want to realize the 'dreams' we longed for during the pandemic and leave them as a film" — A story born from a real snack bar

About the movie 'Eikyo (Waxing and Waning) and Pipe Dream' 'Eikyo and Pipe Dream' is a human drama themed around the light and shadow inherent in the word 'dream'. People can be saved by dreams, and sometimes swayed by them. This work depicts such a dual nature of 'dreams' through the stories of people gathering at a small snack bar.

Set in a real-life snack bar The center of the story is a small snack bar in a corner of the city. Casual conversations exchanged in daily life, and the small hopes and resignations people harbor. While carefully scooping up such atmospheres, the lives of the characters intersect. Furthermore, the memories of the food and beverage industry hit by the 2021 COVID-19 pandemic heavily influence the background of the story. The filming will take place with the full cooperation of the actually existing snack bar 'Sakuramichi' in Inagi City, Tokyo.

Background of the crowdfunding campaign For this project, we are currently challenging crowdfunding, aiming for 1.8 million yen in support as part of the film production costs. The period is until June 1st. Independent films are often produced with limited funds. Therefore, we decided to implement crowdfunding this time as a way to share the production process of the work with more people.
