A Heartwarming Story of Children, Beetles, and Washin-mura

Today, I would like to share a story about children, beetles, and Washin-mura. A family with two small children who stayed with us last August visited us for the second time the other day. When I went to greet them, the little boy came up to me with a big smile, showing me a bug cage containing beetles. When I asked, "Did you catch them in the forest?" his mother smiled and said, "We took the beetles we caught in this forest last year home, and they laid eggs. These little ones are from those eggs!" I was so surprised that I opened my mouth wide and said, "Wow!" Then, the mother continued, "They said they wanted to bring them back to their hometown, so we came back." It was such a moving story. Washin-mura is blessed with nature.
