Iris Ohyama Inc. (Headquarters: Sendai, Miyagi; President: Akihiro Ohyama) will begin rolling out the 'Over-Washing-Machine Drying Rack' on June 8, 2026, through online channels and home centers nationwide. This product enables users to dry laundry in the space above their washing machine.
With the rise of dual-income and single households, there is an increasing demand for indoor drying due to heightened security and privacy concerns, as well as the need to avoid heavy rain, pollen, and yellow sand. Furthermore, urban housing trends toward smaller spaces have increased interest in 'Spepa' (Space Performance) products that maximize limited areas.
The newly released drying rack utilizes the space above the washing machine, allowing users to dry laundry immediately after washing. The pole supports can be adjusted horizontally and vertically to accommodate different items, supporting up to approximately 3kg of laundry (equivalent to two days' worth for one adult). This allows for convenient drying regardless of time or weather without cluttering living spaces.
The system uses a tension rod mechanism that requires no tools, making it easy to install even after a washing machine is already in place. It comes with two trays that attach to the pillars for storing detergent and softener. When not in use, the pole supports can be folded for compact storage.
Pre-orders began on May 19, 2026, on the official 'Iris Plaza' e-commerce site. Iris Ohyama remains committed to developing products closely aligned with consumer lifestyles to help achieve a comfortable living environment.
