"AWS Summit Japan 2026 AI-DLC Hackathon" Final Results
This hackathon, themed "Let's think of services that 'make people useless' while learning new development methods for the AI era!", is Japan's premier technical contest that competes on how to integrate the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) into team development and realize high-quality services in a short period.
Total Entries: 117 teams
Preliminary Advancement: 15 teams (actual system construction review)
Main Competition (Final) Advancement: 5 teams
【Final Results of Our Group】
Grand Prize (Winner): WhiteBox Inc. Team
Finalist Award: Information Strategy Technology Co., Ltd. "Lab Development Department" Team
Amidst strong competition, our group was the only one to have two teams reach the final five, objectively proving that our promotion of the "AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC)" and "AI-Driven Development" is an organizational strength, not just dependent on individual skills.
Group-wide AI Practical Knowledge and Organizational Strength, Led by WhiteBox's Strengths
1. WhiteBox Inc.'s "High Generative AI Implementation Capability" With a track record of winning the "AWS Generative AI Hackathon" last year, WhiteBox Inc. possesses the organizational know-how to prototype practical generative AI products and realize value in an extremely short period. The company's ability to develop "hackathon-specific rapid development" within the group and apply advanced generative AI technology to practical use was the biggest driving force behind this excellent performance.
2. Company-wide Practical Implementation of Claude Enterprise in AWS Marketplace, Kiro, etc. Our group has thoroughly refined "AI-Driven Development," where all engineers are provided with tools like "Kiro" for advanced code analysis and automation, "GitHub Copilot," and "Claude Enterprise in AWS Marketplace," and conduct all daily work processes alongside AI agents. This "daily utilization" is believed to have contributed to development speed and quality within the time limits.
3. Standardization of Processes through "AI-DLC" Study Sessions We have held regular internal study sessions to share know-how on how to redefine the entire development lifecycle for the AI era, not just how to use tools. The system that enables the entire organization to quickly catch up with the latest technological trends and adapt them to practical use supported the simultaneous advancement of two teams to the finals.
4. Problem-Solving Capabilities of the "0th LAB" Solution We analyze that the strengths of the "0th LAB" service (a solution system that packages advanced expertise and accompanies cross-functional teams) provided by the Lab Development Department were demonstrated. We believe that the "0th" mindset, which permeates our engineers to "deliver business value as quickly as possible under uncertain conditions," led to high praise from the judges.
Future Outlook: Participation in "re:Invent" in Las Vegas and Further Technological Innovation
As a prize for winning, the WhiteBox Inc. team was invited to "AWS re:Invent 2026," one of the world's largest conferences, to be held in Las Vegas, USA, at the end of 2026.
Our group views this opportunity as a chance for further technical training for our engineers, and we will directly absorb the latest global top-level AI technologies on-site. Upon returning to Japan, we will disseminate the world-class knowledge gained there within the company and immediately reflect it in our solutions, including our core business "0th LAB." We will strive as a unified company to continue providing "productivity and quality" to our customers in AI-era system development and achieve a leap forward as a leading AI company in Japan.
