Experience the World as Seen by People with Dementia!? 'Walking in the Dementia World Exhibition' to be Held in Kamakura during Golden Week

"I don't know what I was doing just a moment ago." "I don't recognize the person standing right in front of me."

Is that a "scary world"?

Perhaps there exists another world there, governed by rules slightly different from ours.

The "Walking in the Dementia World Exhibition," to be held in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, during Golden Week in 2026, is Japan's first exhibition where you can "experience" the world as seen by people with dementia.

This exhibition is planned and organized by NPO issue+design, which has been working on activities to change perspectives on dementia, and the Borderless Foundation. Starting in Kamakura, the exhibition will tour nationwide.

Visitors will become "travelers" journeying through this world.

As you step into the venue, your sense of memory, time, and space will gradually begin to fluctuate, and you will encounter events that don't go as planned and mysterious sensations.
