Event Report: Over 4,200 Visitors Attended the "Walking in the Dementia World Exhibition" in Kamakura

issue+design and NPO Borderless Foundation co-hosted the interactive exhibition "Walking in the Dementia World" at the Kamakura Performing Arts Center for seven days in May 2026. The event attracted 4,203 visitors, significantly exceeding the target of 1,500. Based on the book "How to Walk in the Dementia World," the exhibition featured eight sensory experiences simulating the daily challenges and sensory discrepancies faced by people with dementia. According to the survey, 98.6% of respondents reported a change in their understanding of dementia. The organizers plan to tour the exhibition to Tokyo, Kansai, and Fukuoka starting in late 2026.
