World Jazz Legend Lou Tabackin Comes to Itabashi! 'Lou Tabackin Trio Japan Tour 2026 in ITABASHI' to Launch on July 14

On Monday, September 21, 2026 (a national holiday), the 'Lou Tabackin Trio Japan Tour 2026 in ITABASHI' will be held at the Small Hall of the Itabashi Cultural Center.

Lou Tabackin, a world-renowned tenor saxophonist and flutist, has remained at the forefront of jazz for over half a century.

For this performance, he will appear in a trio with Mori Toimi, a bassist representing Japan's jazz scene, and drummer Shinnosuke Takahashi. Audiences can fully enjoy the essence of jazz through their overwhelming expressive power and the spontaneity unique to live performances.

Born in 1940 in Philadelphia, USA, Lou Tabackin is a globally acclaimed jazz musician celebrated for his mastery of both tenor saxophone and flute.

Since forming the Akira Miyoshi–Lou Tabackin Big Band in 1973, he has produced numerous acclaimed performances and recordings, continuing to perform actively around the world.

His work with Akira Miyoshi's big band has enchanted jazz fans globally, earning him high praise as a flutist in publications such as 'DownBeat' magazine.

Even today, Tabackin continues to perform across the United States, Japan, Europe, and beyond, creating innovative music at the highest level despite his age.

This concert will feature jazz standards such as 'Afternoon in Paris' and 'Wise One,' along with original compositions including 'Garden at Lifetime' and 'Sakura Princess.'
