J-Oil Mills, Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuichiro Haruyama) held its 2026 entrance ceremony at its headquarters on Wednesday, April 1, welcoming 21 new employees. The following is a summary of the President's message to the new recruits.

Message from President and CEO Yuichiro Haruyama (Summary) Today is a memorable day for all of you as you take your first steps as working professionals, and I am sure your hearts are filled with anticipation. I am delighted to welcome the 21 of you as our new colleagues, and I look forward to working with you.

Our company bears a social mission and responsibility to provide a stable supply of oils and fats, which are essential to people's lives, for the future. While J-Oil Mills was established in 2004 through the integration of three former operating companies, if we trace back to the founding of those predecessors, we are celebrating our 200th anniversary this year. Throughout this journey, we have always faced our customers and society, revising our way of working in response to the changes of the times. Building on this history, we have set our vision for the future as "Joy for Life® – Bringing joy to the future through food –." We aim to contribute to people's lives by providing the joy of "eating" and the joy of "creating" to society, and by solving social issues related to health, the environment, and food resources.

Recently, we have been facing significant changes in the external environment since the beginning of the 2020s, such as the escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Changes occurring on a global scale are having a major impact on the food industry, including our company, through the procurement of raw materials and shifts in market demand. Furthermore, we anticipate that our values and needs regarding life and food will change more dynamically in the future, due to the development of technologies such as AI, in addition to addressing environmental issues such as global warming.

In this environment, while cherishing our pride as one of the companies that has supported Japanese food culture for a long time, we intend to return to a "customer-oriented" approach, advance business transformation, and contribute to society in response to the rapidly changing external environment and customer needs.

I would like you to maximize your potential throughout your professional life at our company. To that end, please value these three points: (1) Have curiosity (2) Have your own opinions (3) Maintain an attitude of trying and taking on challenges

Our company will fully support the career growth and development of each and every one of you. We also look forward to learning from the sensibilities and perspectives that you bring.

As the external environment changes at an accelerating pace, I hope to create the future of J-Oil Mills together with you, where your growth and the company's development are integrated, and we continue to grow alongside society.
