[JAF Tochigi] First Parent-Child Mini 4WD Workshop on June 27 Combined with Drunk Driving Awareness

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Tochigi Branch (Director: Shinsuke Morikawa) has announced its first 'Mini 4WD Workshop' for elementary school students and their guardians, to be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026. This hands-on event allows families to experience the entire process from assembly to racing, providing an engaging way to learn the joy of craftsmanship.

Participants will use brand-new Mini 4WD kits (such as the Tamiya 1/32 TRF Works Jr.) and assemble them with support from JAF staff. Once completed, a test drive session will be held on a specially designed track. The goal is not just about speed, but also appreciating the precision of assembly and understanding how vehicles move, fostering a deeper interest in automotive mechanics through family collaboration.

In addition to the workshop, a special 'Drunk Driving Simulation' will be conducted for the accompanying guardians. Using specialized equipment, parents will experience the visual and motor skill impairments associated with alcohol consumption, serving as a powerful reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence.
