[JAF Sapporo] "Sing and Learn" to Prevent Traffic Accidents Involving Children: JAF's Original Program "Doremi Group" Held in Sapporo

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Sapporo Branch (Branch Manager: Takashi Yokoi) will hold the "JAF Traffic Safety Doremi Group" program, where children can learn traffic safety through music, on July 24 (Fri.) at 10:00 AM at Nintei Kodomoen Sumikawa Hoikuen (Certified Integrated Daycare Center Sumikawa).

This program is an interactive traffic safety class where children can learn experientially, such as how to cross a crosswalk and dangers on the road, while moving their bodies to songs and rhythms. It is primarily aimed at children in kindergartens and daycare centers in Sapporo City and its vicinity.

Providing opportunities to learn traffic safety through music

Traffic accidents involving children continue to occur, and the importance of traffic safety education from an early age is increasing. This class aims for children to "understand traffic rules by using their bodies" rather than "memorizing" them, by incorporating musical elements such as songs and hand games.

Utilizing JAF's Unique Traffic Safety Know-how

JAF addresses challenges in traffic situations on a daily basis through lectures and various events, and leverages this knowledge to clearly convey safe actions from a child's perspective. JAF Sapporo Branch previously held this class on June 12 (Fri.) at Nintei Kodomoen Jozankei Hoikuen (Certified Integrated Daycare Center Jozankei). This activity has been carried out continuously and will reach its 20th anniversary next year.

Future Development

JAF Sapporo Branch will continue to hold the "JAF Traffic Safety Doremi Group" at kindergartens and daycare centers to expand opportunities for children to learn traffic safety in their daily lives. In addition, we will enhance the program content with the 20th anniversary in mind, and promote it as a more effective traffic safety awareness activity.

We will implement traffic safety awareness activities that are "fun, easy to understand, and educational" to reduce traffic accidents involving children, even by one case. We invite you to cover this event.
