JAIC Co., Ltd., which operates in the corporate education and training business and youth employment support business, is pleased to announce that it has entered into Japan's first license agreement for "StrengthsFinder® Premier Strategic Educational Leader in Japan" with Gallup, Inc., a global research and consulting company, based on a strategic collaborative relationship.
Background of the Partnership In recent years, early job turnover and job mismatches among young people have become a social issue in Japan. One of the underlying causes is a lack of self-understanding. While methods for self-analysis have diversified in the information-rich era, students often proceed with their job hunting without sufficient objective indicators or a convincing understanding of themselves, leading to cases of early turnover due to gaps after joining the company. JAIC has supported young people for over 20 years through services such as "JAIC Job College®," which has supported over 39,000 job seekers (※), and the new graduate scout site "Future Finder®." Through extensive support, the need for "self-understanding support based on objective indicators" has become strongly felt. Therefore, in collaboration with Gallup, which has a global track record, we will provide concrete solutions for "knowing one's own strengths and potential and confidently embarking on a career." (※) Number of participants in job fairs organized by JAIC's "Job College®" etc. from May 2005 to April 2025.
What is Gallup's "StrengthsFinder®"? "StrengthsFinder®" is a diagnostic tool developed by Gallup based on over 50 years of psychological research and business data to discover an individual's "talents (qualities)." It visualizes the tendency of one's own strengths among 34 qualities such as "Adaptability," "Communication," and "Achiever." Over 37 million people worldwide have taken the assessment, and over 90% of Fortune 500 companies utilize it for human resource development and organizational development. In Japan, "StrengthsFinder®" is introduced in the book "Now, Discover Your Strengths: Updated Edition" (Authors: Jim Clifton, Gallup; Translator: Hiroko Furuya (honorifics omitted)) published by Nikkei BP Co., Ltd., and this book has become a bestseller with 1.5 million copies sold.
Significance of This Agreement This agreement grants our company the rights to provide programs utilizing "StrengthsFinder®" to universities in Japan. In particular, we will take the lead in deploying programs to domestic universities that identify each participant's "Top 5 Talents" and leverage them for career development. This strategic partnership will enable the following initiatives:
Free Provision of Diagnostic Tool to Young People To support the career development of young people who will shape Japan's future, we will provide opportunities to take the "StrengthsFinder®" assessment free of charge (subject to certain usage conditions). This will deliver opportunities for "career design based on strengths" to a wider range of young people.
Development of Programs Tailored for Young People We will combine JAIC's long-cultivated expertise in education, training, and employment support with "StrengthsFinder®" to develop programs optimized for young people.
Accompanying Support That Doesn't End with Diagnosis We will not only present the "StrengthsFinder®" diagnostic results but also provide support from specialized advisors for articulating strengths and connecting them to work. By using a common "language of strengths" throughout self-analysis, company introductions, and post-hire follow-up, we will build a support system that dramatically reduces mismatches.
Future Outlook Takeshi Sato, President and CEO of JAIC Co., Ltd., states: "Many young people have approached their job search feeling that they 'have no strengths.' However, strengths are not 'absent'; they are simply 'not yet recognized.' By integrating the globally utilized 'StrengthsFinder®' with our support know-how, we aim to realize a society where each young person in Japan recognizes their own strengths and can choose their career with confidence." Moving forward, we will promote the expansion of collaborative programs with universities, aiming to provide services to a total of 100,000 young people over the next three years.
