Rooted in creativity, community, and circular fashion, Coachtopia has partnered with Depop to launch its official shop on the platform and celebrate the launch with an immersive two-day pop-up event titled Bag Bazaar, held on June 13 and 14 in New York’s SoHo district. The event celebrated the unique character of scrap materials, vintage pieces, and pre-loved bags within a single physical space, marking the beginning of a weekend filled with creativity and community.
The official Coachtopia shop features Coachtopia bags, including the "Alter/Ego" line crafted from leather scraps generated during the manufacturing process of iconic Coach bags like the "Tabby" and "Brooklyn"—materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill if not reused. Additionally, the shop offers the first restored Coachtopia bags and Y2K-era vintage Coach items.
Guided by a shared belief in reinterpreting existing materials and finding beauty in waste, this collaboration brings together new, vintage, and reimagined styles in one space, visualizing the fashion lifecycle and positioning resale as a key element in how a new generation discovers personal style.
"Coachtopia and Depop were a natural fit because we both understand how important individuality and unique personal style are to this generation of consumers," said Jen Yue, SVP of Coach Strategy & Consumer Insights, Collaborations, and Coachtopia. "We were drawn to the idea of creating a space where the thrill of unexpected discovery meets the quality and craftsmanship that define Coach."
"We’re excited to partner with Coachtopia as we launch their official shop on Depop," said Steve Dool, Senior Director of Brand & Creative at Depop. "Coachtopia’s approach of reinterpreting existing materials and extending product lifecycles deeply resonates with our community. Bag Bazaar offers another exciting opportunity to bring the Depop experience—fashion, creativity, and discovery—into the physical world and connect with our community in real life."
At the pop-up, a sculptural patchwork booth reflected the patterns of Coachtopia’s Alter/Ego bags, showcasing curated selections from the entire circular product journey. In addition to shopping, Bag Bazaar featured a series of activations inspired by customization, reinvention, and personal style, including a closet sale hosted by Iris Law.
Held at 45 Grand Street in New York’s SoHo, Bag Bazaar allowed attendees to enjoy aura readings by Synergy Life, a live patchwork installation by Yoonie Kim, a digital try-on mirror experience by DRESSX, desserts by The Dotcakes, and music by DJ L3Ni. As a purchase perk, guests also experienced crafting upcycled bag charms in collaboration with Depop seller Juliana NYC.
