Aggregating Distributed Resources at Multiple Locations into a Single Adjustment Capability for Market Provision

In the Japanese electricity market, the importance of adjustment capability is increasing to maintain the supply-demand balance as the introduction of renewable energy progresses. As a resource aggregator, GO Inc. will provide adjustment capability to the supply-demand adjustment market through its aggregation coordinator, MC Retail Energy Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Takayuki Araki). By controlling the charging volume of EV vehicles connected to over 230 chargers*3 at times when there is a potential for instability in electricity supply, these distributed resources will be aggregated into a single adjustment capability. The target EV chargers are those installed by GO Inc. for providing EV charging services. The provided adjustment capability will be used by transmission and distribution operators to ensure stable electricity supply for the domestic power grid.
