GO Economy Operating Areas in Central Tokyo and Shibuya Integrated for Greater Convenience! Shibuya Ward Entirely, Komaba-Todaimae, Ikejiri-Ohashi, and Sangenjaya Newly Added, Increasing Pick-up/Drop-off Spots by Over 1.5 Times

GO Economy, the ride-sharing service of the No.1*1 taxi app "GO" developed by GO Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Nakajima), will integrate its operating areas, which were previously divided into two: the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Shibuya area, starting from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday), in response to numerous customer requests. In addition, the operating area will be further expanded, and the number of pick-up/drop-off spots will increase to approximately 6,500, more than 1.5 times the conventional number. We will continue to provide a new transportation experience where you are guaranteed a seat to even more customers.

｜Monthly Ridership Grows Approximately 3x! Operating Area Significantly Expanded in Response to Customer Demand!

"GO Economy" launched its service in December 2024. It has been utilized in various scenarios, mainly by light users who do not regularly use taxis, for commuting to the city center and for weekend outings, and its monthly ridership has grown by 3 times*2. To make "GO Economy" more convenient and intuitive to use, we will update the service starting from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday).

In "GO Economy," the operating areas were separated into the Tokyo metropolitan area and Shibuya for a demonstration experiment with Shibuya Ward starting in September 2025. This time, in response to numerous customer requests, we will integrate the Tokyo metropolitan area and Shibuya area, enabling mutual travel between them.

Furthermore, the operating area will be expanded from mainly the northwestern part of Shibuya Ward to the entire Shibuya Ward, and new areas such as Komaba-Todaimae, Ikejiri-Ohashi, and Sangenjaya will be added. This will increase the number of pick-up/drop-off spots to approximately 6,500, more than 1.5 times the conventional number, enabling operations that better meet user needs. The Shibuya Ward demand-responsive transport demonstration experiment will continue to be implemented. With these updates, 13 new wards have been added to the operating area since the service launch, and the number of pick-up/drop-off spots has expanded 16-fold.

In conjunction with this, we will implement various functional updates to streamline the selection of pick-up/drop-off spots when ordering and to facilitate meeting with vehicles, and we will continue development to provide new transportation experiences to many customers.

・ Fare: You can ride at approximately 50-90% of the price of a regular taxi fare/pick-up fee, etc. (based on pre-determined fare calculation method / for 1 seat). The second seat is priced lower than the first seat. Please pay the fare confirmed at the time of booking using "GO Pay."

・ Notes:

This service is a ride-sharing service where you share a vehicle with other customers.

Please be considerate of other customers when riding. Please refrain from talking on the phone, taking photos, or eating/drinking in the vehicle.

Baggage is limited to one item that can be placed on your lap.

The vehicle will depart without waiting once the scheduled departure time arrives.

Even if you are unable to board, a cancellation fee (full fare) will be incurred.
