About Half Unaware of Crypto Tax Reform Plan; Awareness Varies by Investment Experience

A survey by JinaCoin, operated by jaybe Inc., revealed that 48.4% of 351 respondents in Japan were unaware of the planned 2028 crypto tax reform, which aims to shift from up to 55% comprehensive taxation to an approximate 20% separate taxation. While 76.0% of experienced investors knew about the plan, 73.8% of non-investors learned of it for the first time. Awareness peaked among those in their 40s, and most informed individuals cited news websites as their primary information source.
