The 2026 JBMXF Daito Kentaku Series Round 4 Tsukuba Tournament, organized by the Japan BMX Federation, opened at Cycle Park Tsukuba in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

On the afternoon of May 23 (Sat), the official practice day, the NAGASAKO OPEN was held. This race is produced by Yoshitaku Nagasako, the official ambassador of the Japan BMX Federation. It features a unique format, including the mixed-gender open category, and has been held in earnest since 2026.

In the top category, the 15+ Open, Hyoga Kiuchi (BMX Sarrians/Chubu BMX Association) won by shaking off the pursuit of Ryunosuke Kishi (Motocross International/Tokyo BMX Association). Kishi took 2nd place, and Tokimasa Kamijo (Niigata BMX Association), the winner of the previous race, took 3rd. Kiuchi had already achieved consecutive victories in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the JBMXF Daito Kentaku Series, and this win gives him momentum toward a third straight victory.

What is BMX Racing?

BMX originated in the 1970s in the United States when children imitated motorcycle motocross. The sport spread worldwide through dynamic racing where up to 8 riders start simultaneously on a 300-450m course and compete for ranking. Freestyle variants also emerged from its free competition characteristics. BMX racing was adopted as an official Olympic sport starting from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has become a popular sport globally. The Japan BMX Federation was established in 1984 and actively holds BMX racing tournaments and promotion activities.
