JFE Engineering Forms Capital and Business Alliance with Swiss EnergieLink for Overseas Waste-to-Energy Sector

JFE Engineering Co., Ltd. (President: Kazumi Fukuda; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "the Company") announces the acquisition of a 45% stake in EnergieLink Holding AG, a Swiss company specializing in after-sales services for waste-to-energy (WtE[1]) plants in Europe, including maintenance, retrofitting, spare parts supply, and the signing of a business alliance agreement with the company.

Founded in 2011, EnergieLink operates from bases in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, focusing on after-service operations for WtE plants across Europe. The company provides a comprehensive range of services, from maintenance and spare parts supply to equipment upgrades.

In Europe, over 500 existing WtE facilities are currently in operation, many of which have been in service for more than 30 years since their construction. With aging infrastructure and increasing environmental regulations, demand is expected to grow for maintenance, core equipment upgrades, and modernization projects. Through this alliance, the JFE Engineering Group will enter the European market for WtE plant after-sales services.

Going forward, the Company, along with its European subsidiary Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (hereinafter "SBG") and other group companies, will collaborate with EnergieLink to strengthen capabilities in both EPC[2] and after-service operations in the overseas WtE market, enhancing the provision of lifecycle services for WtE plants to customers.
