Japan FM Network Co., Ltd. (JFNC) announced that its managed parkour athlete, Nene Nagai, achieved runner-up status in the Women's Freestyle category at the 'FIG WORLD CUP 2026 MONTPELLIER' held in France from May 15 to 17, 2026.
Nagai faced a significant challenge when she subluxated her shoulder during the final practice session before the qualifiers. Despite the pain and the need to suddenly restructure her run, she managed to advance through the qualifying rounds. In the finals, she focused on strategic scoring within her physical limitations, delivering a highly polished performance that earned her the silver medal.
Reflecting on the event, Nagai said, 'I truly realized the importance of mental control and felt my own growth through this competition.' She is now focusing on treatment and preparation for the next World Cup in Turkey, scheduled in two weeks, where she aims for the top spot.
<Nene Nagai Profile> In 2019, at age 13, she became the inaugural champion at the 1st Japan Parkour Championships. She has since established herself as the absolute ace of women's parkour freestyle and represents Japan on the global World Cup circuit.
