[Setsunan University] Considering the Impact of Climate Change on Watershed Environments

Setsunan University (President: Yasuyuki Kubo) and the Lake Biwa-Yodo River-Osaka Bay Watershed Symposium Executive Committee (organizer) will hold the '8th Lake Biwa-Yodo River-Osaka Bay Watershed Symposium in Osaka,' titled 'Climate Change and Watershed Environments,' at El Osaka on June 28.

Climate change, including global warming, has become prominent in recent years, with impacts on watershed environments such as the intensification and increased frequency of heavy rain disasters, expansion or contraction of natural distribution areas of organisms, increased forest fires, and destabilization of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

This symposium, under the theme 'Climate Change and Watershed Environments,' will delve into the impacts of climate change on sediment disasters and the Lake Biwa-Yodo River-Osaka Bay watershed area based on keynote lectures and topic presentations. It also aims to promote exchange among river-related organizations, administrations, and researchers in the Kinki region through poster sessions.
