FY2026 Companies Selected for Chiba Prefecture's "Innovative Startup Growth Promotion Project"

CIC Catalyst APAC, the startup growth support organization of CIC Japan (Headquarters: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Denise Medlenka), has announced the companies selected for the FY2026 "Innovative Startup Growth Promotion Project" commissioned by Chiba Prefecture.

Selected companies will receive tailored support, including mentoring and matching, leveraging CIC's domestic and international networks and the resources of support organizations within Chiba Prefecture.

Company Name: MOFgraphy Inc.

Business Overview: MOFgraphy Inc. is a startup originating from the University of Tokyo, focused on the development and commercialization of liquid-phase separation technology using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as the stationary phase. Through this program, they will collaborate with relevant organizations in Chiba Prefecture to conduct technical evaluations for verification with actual wastewater and prepare for commercialization.

Business Overview: ReBond Materials is a startup originating from Chiba University that chemically recycles waste plastics to circulate them as high-quality materials again. Based on their proprietary technology for recovering useful raw materials from waste, they aim to build a new circular economy, with polycarbonate resin as the initial implementation target. Through this program, they will focus on concrete steps for societal implementation, including alliances with corporations, intellectual property strategy, development systems, and business plans.

[Project Overview]

(1) Purpose

To provide intensive, short-term, hands-on support to startups with unprecedented technologies or ideas that face challenges in commercialization, such as marketing strategy and intellectual property protection, thereby fostering their growth into companies that drive the regional economy.

(2) Target Companies

Corporations or individuals with headquarters or business offices located in Chiba Prefecture.

Business fields are not limited, but must possess innovative technologies and ideas.

Must aim for growth.

Must not be delinquent in prefectural taxes.

Must not fall under the definition of a yakuza or yakuza member as stipulated in Article 2 of the Chiba Prefecture Ordinance on the Exclusion of Organized Crime (Ordinance No. 4 of March 18, 2011), or a close associate of a yakuza as stipulated in Article 9, Paragraph 1 of the same ordinance.

Must not be recognized as violating or having the potential to violate laws or public order and morals.

(3) Support Content

1 Support by CIC Catalyst APAC, the startup growth support organization

A dedicated mentor will be assigned to each supported company. A support plan will be created outlining current status analysis, business challenges, and action items. Regular monthly meetings (frequency determined based on the selected company's needs and support progress) and mentoring on business plans will be provided.

2 Support by External Experts

To address the challenges and support needs of the supported companies, external experts with specialized knowledge and familiarity with various fields and industries will provide advice and other necessary support approximately 1-2 times per month as needed.

3 Introduction to Partner Companies and Investors

Partner companies and investors matching the challenges and support needs of the supported companies will be introduced, along with necessary support to foster collaboration.

4 Other Support

Opportunities to participate in theme-specific events will be provided, and introductions and support from incubation facility incubation managers, financial institutions, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "regional support organizations") will be offered.
