Tara Ocean Japan, an organization dedicated to marine research and conservation, will conduct research and awareness activities at three locations nationwide from May to August 2026 as the third year of the 'Tara JAMBIO Blue Carbon Project'. This was made possible by the support received through crowdfunding. The project is a large-scale domestic research effort planned over four years across more than 13 locations in Japan to study the carbon sequestration mechanisms and biodiversity of blue carbon ecosystems. This year, focusing on seagrass, activities will be held at Nagasaki University, Tohoku University, and Hokkaido University, alongside educational events for the general public.
