Unlocking the Secrets of Sea Forests with Science!

Tara Ocean Japan, an organization dedicated to marine research and conservation, will host a marine education event titled 'Unlocking the Secrets of Sea Forests! Let's Learn About Blue Carbon Ecosystems' on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Asamushi Research Center for Marine Biology, Tohoku University, in Aomori. The 'Tara JAMBIO Blue Carbon Project' aims to conduct scientific research on blue carbon ecosystems and promote their importance. This is the second event in Asamushi, following one five years ago. The program includes seminars, beach cleanups, creature observation, and photosynthesis experiments to help participants learn about the mechanisms and roles of blue carbon ecosystems. Participation is free, with a capacity of about 30 people.
