A Story of Two Cities

For the Louis Vuitton 2027 Cruise collection, Women's Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière creates connections between the distinct personalities and realities of Paris and New York, and within the various neighborhoods of these cities, between their conflicting elements and duality.

New York is always a city where multiple identities, diverse cultures, and various experiences melt together. Never single-faceted, it is an intersection of uptown and downtown, past and future. Breathing with diverse sensibilities and attitudes, this place is filled with beautiful contradictions and perfect differences.

Pat McGrath, DBE, Louis Vuitton's Cosmetic Creative Director, wanted to capture both the sophistication of Paris and the cool charm of 70s downtown New York through a natural, elegant, and effortlessly chic makeup look.

For the eye-focused makeup, "LV Ombre 150 Beige Memento" and "LV Ombre 896 Monogram Rouge" were used to create soft shadows, while the lips were finished intuitively with "LV Balm 010 Nude Poetry" and "LV Crayon 896 Monogram Rouge". Nude, berry, and red tones were blended to create an impression as if the lips were naturally stained.
