The Japan Foundation (JF) will hold its "Kids Kasumigaseki Day" at its Tokyo Headquarters (Yotsuya) on August 5, 2026 (Wed).

"Kids Kasumigaseki Day" is an event where various government ministries and agencies located in Kasumigaseki collaborate to explain and exhibit their work. The event aims to help children learn about society and become interested in government policies during their summer vacation.

As an independent administrative agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, JF has participated annually. In the past, JF has organized events such as creating characters to introduce Japan overseas, making fans inspired by Japan, and holding lectures on Japanese classical literature by foreign researchers.

This year's JF event will feature a workshop where participants write messages in foreign languages on fans, and an online exchange program with overseas staff. Through writing messages in various languages on fans, participants can experience foreign cultures through language. The exchange with overseas staff will also provide an opportunity to learn about "different lifestyles and ways of thinking from those in Japan" through quizzes and anecdotes about their respective regions.

This is one of the few events JF organizes that targets a younger audience. We would be delighted if you could cover this opportunity.
