JP Home Supply Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Takeyuki Matsuura), a group company of Japan Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd. engaged in the sales of household paper and hygiene products, successfully delivered 5 'Mobile Toilet Trailers for Disasters' (hereinafter referred to as 'Toilet Trailers') to Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, on May 8, 2026. With this, the company announced that the cumulative number of Toilet Trailers delivered nationwide has reached 62 units.

Himeji City now holds the highest number among single municipalities in Western Japan with 6 units, bringing our cumulative deliveries nationwide to 62 units!

Himeji City boasts world-class tourism resources, such as the World Heritage site 'Himeji Castle,' attracting numerous tourists from all over the world. Driven by the municipality's desire to provide 'spacious,' 'clean,' and 'bright' toilets for large-framed foreign tourists, the trailers are scheduled to be installed at various locations around Himeji Castle during normal times. The wrapping designs for 3 out of the 5 units were selected through a public competition featuring Himeji Castle motifs, each possessing a warm and gentle touch meant to bring comfort and hope to people in disaster areas.

The ability to serve purposes that typical temporary toilets cannot is one of the reasons the Toilet Trailer was selected. We have received orders for the Toilet Trailer from many other municipalities as well. Our goal is to have Toilet Trailers deployed in all 47 prefectures, serving not only during disasters for the hygiene care of victims but also during normal times.

There are many other reasons why the Toilet Trailer is chosen.

Since the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, general mobile toilets have increased in various forms, such as toilet cars and toilet trucks. Among them, the Toilet Trailer stands out because it has no engine, allowing it to be used even after being submerged in about 1 meter of water, following a cleaning. In the summer of 2026, the occurrence of an El Niño phenomenon is anticipated, which may lead to typhoons approaching Japan more frequently. The Toilet Trailer's resilience against not just earthquakes but weather-related disasters is another reason it is favored. The advantages of the Toilet Trailer we provide are as follows:

[Reasons why the Toilet Trailer is chosen] - Having no engine, it can be used even after a ~1m flood, once cleaned. - The absence of an engine means no fuel or oil is required, making it safe and maintenance-free. - Capable of permanent use (actually used continuously for about 1 year and 11 months immediately following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake). - As it relies on water supply and pumping without direct connection to water and sewage lines, it can be used as a public toilet at construction sites, suburban filming locations, river parks, and roadside stations. - Registered as a feces and urine trailer, it can travel with dirty water stored in the tank. - The trailer can be detached and left behind while the towing vehicle returns. - Wheels are in the center, and jacks at the four corners allow horizontal leveling on a certain degree of incline.
