[Lecture Overview] In Europe, a proposed ELV regulation incorporating mandatory minimum recycled plastic content for vehicles has been tabled. Building a recycled plastic market to support the stable production of Japan's automotive industry is a pressing challenge. The Ministry of the Environment launched the "Industry-Academia-Government Consortium for Building a Recycled Material Market for Automobiles" in 2024. This lecture will detail the consortium's initiatives and the concept of centralized collection hubs.
