Speaker Mr. Tatsuya Miyamoto, Former Assistant Director (Sewage Planning), Urban Environment Division, City Planning Bureau, Hokkaido Construction Department. A practitioner responsible for public infrastructure policy for approximately 25 years, engaged in a wide range of infrastructure projects including sewage, roads, and airports, and including experience on loan to the DBJ.

Lecture Overview In Hokkaido, an interim review of the "Hokkaido Sewage Business Management Strategy" (FY2021-2030) was conducted at the end of FY2025. As new initiatives for formulating the next strategy, considerations for "strengthening public-private partnerships," "contribution to decarbonization," and "utilization of ICT/new technologies" have been added. This lecture will explain recent initiatives in the prefecture that contribute to strengthening the management base to respond to aging infrastructure and earthquake resistance planning, as well as the progress and initiatives towards future public-private partnerships.
