[JPI Seminar] Data Center Power Strategy: Determining Success in AI Investment

JPI (Japan Planning Institute) is hosting a seminar featuring Yoshimitsu Mabashi, Senior Researcher at the Grid Innovation Research Division of the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, to detail data center power strategies that determine the success of AI investments.

With the rapid spread of generative AI, corporate competitiveness is shifting from data volume to the capacity to process it stably and continuously. For data centers, which serve as the processing foundation, power constraints have recently begun to impact site strategies.

This lecture will examine power issues beyond mere supply shortages, focusing on supply formats, quality, and connection viability. It will explain the structural changes involving data center location, connectivity, and operation, as well as the perspectives required for corporate decision-making.
