What is "Red Cross Campaign Month"?

May 1st is the founding anniversary of the Japanese Red Cross Society, and May 8th is "World Red Cross Day," the birthday of its founder Henry Dunant. Therefore, May is designated as "Red Cross Campaign Month" to introduce Red Cross activities to everyone and ask for cooperation in fundraising.

Under the philosophy of "protecting human life, health, and dignity," the Red Cross operates various projects in 191 countries and regions worldwide, including responses to natural disasters and activities in conflict zones.

The Kanagawa Prefectural Chapter of the Japanese Red Cross Society produces and promotes public relations materials such as posters, flyers, and pamphlets. These posters, etc., will be displayed at stations within the JR East Yokohama Branch area and on the Yokohama Minatomirai Line.

In addition, as an opportunity to raise awareness of Red Cross activities, the Red Light Up Project will be implemented again this year, mainly around May 8th.
