JR East Group and NTT Docomo Business will conduct a demonstration experiment at Mass-Trans Innovation Japan Osaka 2026, using haptic technology 'FEEL TECH®' to simulate the driver's seat of an EF64-1030 electric locomotive.

East Japan Railway Company (JR East), JR East Trading Co., Ltd., and NTT Docomo Business Inc. will conduct a demonstration experiment on railway vehicle experiences using haptic transmission technology at the 'Mass-Trans Innovation Japan Osaka 2026'.

At the booth, an environment will be built using specialized devices and video to allow visitors to experience what it is like to be a driver. This demonstration is part of an initiative by the 'WaaS Co-Creation Consortium' and utilizes NTT Docomo's 'FEEL TECH®'.

Based on the operation of the EF64-1030 electric locomotive formerly belonging to the Niigata Vehicle Center, visitors will experience the vehicle's vibrations felt by the driver synchronized with running scene videos. The project aims for future expansion through online content provision.
