JR Kyushu Announces Renewal of "Kocchi demo Ikeru yo! Yufuin Kippu" with Digital Features

JR Kyushu's online train reservation service currently offers the "Kocchi demo Ikeru yo! Yufuin Kippu" for travel between Hakata and Yufuin. This ticket allows passengers to travel affordably by taking Limited Express trains like the "Sonic" between Hakata and Oita, then transferring to local trains between Oita and Yufuin.

To further enhance passenger convenience, the product will undergo a major renewal starting with travel on July 1, 2026. This update aims to provide a more seamless travel experience to Yufuin via the Limited Express "Sonic."

【Three Key Points of the Renewal】

● Introduction of "QR Ticketless" Service: Previously, passengers had to collect physical tickets at a station. With the update, selecting "QR Ticket Entry" during booking allows passengers to board using only a QR code, eliminating the need for physical tickets.

● Direct Seat Reservation: While passengers previously had to obtain a separate seat assignment ticket after collecting their physical ticket, the new system allows seats to be secured directly at the time of online booking.

● New "Green Car Reserved Seat" Option: A premium seating option for Green Cars (first-class) will be newly established in the product lineup.
