JR Kyushu Retail Co., Ltd. will renew its 'Kokura Meihingura' shop located within JR Kokura Station.

The renovation features a new space centered on the warmth of wood grain, designed to reflect the strength of Kitakyushu, a city that has flourished through Kokura-ori weaving and the steel industry.

In addition to products unique to Kokura, a new lineup featuring attractive items from Fukuoka and various parts of Kyushu will be introduced sequentially. The store aims to provide the joy of choice and travel memories by offering exclusive products and future Kyushu classics. The goal is to create a store enjoyed by both tourists and local residents daily.

During the renovation period starting May 16, a temporary shop will operate in the space adjacent to the conventional line ticket gate on the 3rd floor of Kokura Station. The temporary store will be open from 9:30 to 19:00, accessible from both inside and outside the gates. It will carry about 10 types of souvenirs from Kokura and Hakata, including the popular 'Hakata Torimon' in limited quantities.
