Railway Information Systems Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Takayuki Ikeda; abbreviation: JR System) announced that it has introduced its shift management system 'Shift Schedule Assistant' to Eiwashoji Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture; President: Masakazu Go), which operates in the gaming industry.
In the company's store operations in the gaming industry, due to irregular work schedules and over 30 staff members at large stores, creating shifts considering each employee's working conditions was a complex task. Previously, shifts were created alongside sales operations, taking over three days to complete, placing a heavy burden on staff.
In the gaming industry, shift creation must consider each employee's preferences and conditions within an irregular work schedule. Previously, manual creation relying on the experience and judgment of the person in charge led to issues such as task dependency, mistakes during handovers, and increased work time. Maintaining fairness was also difficult.
Faced with these challenges, the company determined the need for an efficient and fair shift creation mechanism. After evaluating the high usability, flexibility to accommodate irregular shift patterns, and robust support system, they decided to introduce 'Shift Schedule Assistant.'
Using this system, shift creation that previously took over three days can now be completed in one day, reducing work time by approximately 5-6 hours.
The reduced burden has improved work efficiency, allowing staff to focus more on customer service and on-site operations.
In the future, further utilization at each store is expected to prevent task dependency, ensure stable operations, and create a better working environment for employees, thereby improving employee engagement.
