JTOWER Inc. This follows JTOWER’s successful bid on June 30, 2026, for the 26.8–27.0GHz regional blocks in the spectrum auction (price competition) aimed at accelerating the expansion of 5th-generation mobile communication systems in the 26GHz band.
This spectrum auction, conducted by MIC, represents a paradigm shift in spectrum allocation, specifically introduced for high-frequency bands exceeding 6GHz. The target spectrum is divided into two distinct categories: the single Nationwide Block for nationwide deployment, and the multiple Regional Blocks designed for targeted, municipality-based deployment. These Regional Blocks are strategically positioned as dedicated slots to catalyze the market entry of new and regional operators.
JTOWER has successfully secured approval for the Regional Blocks (26.8–27.0GHz) across 13 prime economic regions, including the 23 wards of Tokyo, Yokohama City, Osaka City, Nagoya City, Fukuoka City, and Chiba City. This achievement marks a historic first in Japan, where an infrastructure sharing operator has been granted spectrum allocation.
